Classification of matter
A.
Anything that has mass and occupies space is called matter.
Matter can be Calssified into two ways.
a. Physical Classification of matter.
b. Chemical Classification of matter.
B.
Physical Classification of Matter :
Matter can be classified into three states.
i. Solid State : Definite shape and possesses definite volume.
Ex : Copper rod, common salt etc.
ii. Liquid State : Definite volume but not definite shape.
Ex : Water, oil etc.
iii. Gaseous State :Neither possesses a definite volume nor a definiteshape.
Ex : Carbondioxide, air etc.
